If you looked at the news outlets or read them online, you would have been hard-pressed to find much negative on Barack Obama, but on the other hand, you would have been hard-pressed to find anything positive about John McCain.

To me, it seemed as our media was going to do everything they could to make sure Obama was going to be our next President. By any means necessary.

Regardless of the facts and allegations that surrounded Obama’s past and present dealings, they were conveniently masked over and covered up for political purposes. You know, as the old saying goes, “where there’s smoke there’s fire”. If the same allegations and facts surrounded John McCain the media would have been all over it, but it was in the best interest of the liberal media to see that a Democrat be President, no matter what.

Nevertheless, what’s done is done, but if things start going to hell in a hand-basket in the near future, we can thank our objective media for making it possible.

Genius choice John McCain. Sharp woman, and she’s a conservative. Props to McCain for this decision. Now, just get prepared; because the liberal left is quaking in their boots now, and they will throw everything at him as to why this was a “bad move” for VP. Trust me, the media and the critics would have criticized him no matter who he chose. But this is a little different. Palin’s a sharp woman that’s pro-life and conservative; a major problem in the eye’s of the left. She’s a real threat to their chances now, make no mistake about it. This move has changed this race for the Oval office in a major way. I feel this will contribute to McCain winning the White House in November.

Hey, let’s not beat around the “Bush” on this one. We know who the candidates are and we should know what they stand for by now. I thought it would be fun to get the conversations stirred up in regards to the election.

What is wrong with this picture?

Much has been made of Barack Obama’s allegiance to the United States of America, and when you see this photo, it does tend to make you at least ask the question, “why isn’t his hand over his heart?”

Fair question. Yeah, I know that this might be a “little” thing, but let’s really look at the big picture.

You would think that if you’re running for President of the United States you would realize cameras are going to be on you at any given time, and you would want to be prepared.

Do you want the leader of the greatest country on the face of the earth to have problems holding his hand to his heart in honor of this great country and has allowed him to be in the discussion for President?

Fair question?

I’ve been pulled over 6 times in 13 years and have received a ticket 3 times, but I probably have deserved at least 2 more. Nevertheless, my observation on why I didn’t receive more than I did, was my response and approach to the officer.

Not to say that my response and approach to the officers on the tickets I did receive was wrong, but this is a good way to avoid getting one if you’re slightly over the speed limit.

There following are some nuggets to follow when you get pulled over:

• Do what you’re told.
• Don’t be a smart alec.
• Tell the truth.
• Don’t talk too much.
• Put out your cigarette (if you’re a smoker).
• Sit-up in your seat.

Trust me. If you follow those few little steps, you stand a great chance of avoiding a ticket or even worse.

Racism: the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

I’m 35 years old black man from Jacksonville, Florida, and I have experienced many things over the years, and I will admit that I haven’t dealt with much racism in it’s defined form. If the truth be know, you will find that you probably haven’t either. Nevertheless, I’m going to give advice from the school of life on how to deal with racism.

My advice on dealing with racists and racism is somewhat simple. You just be the best person you can be by treating that person and everyone you come into contact with with respect and in time maybe that person or people will change their view of your race because of the way you treated them.

The sooner you understand this next point, the further you will go in life and please don’t take this next statement in a derogative way. Racists are ignorant people. They think that their belief system is correct, because that’s the way they’ve been for so long and that’s honestly all they know.
Most of the time it’s a world view that has derived from their parents which indoctrinated them with it from infancy. I recall a friend of the family (who is black) who works at a church daycare that was telling my wife about an incident in her class where she went to hug one of her students (who is white), but was told by the student “…don’t touch me! Whites are suppose to hug whites and blacks are suppose to hug blacks…”. This statement came from a 4 year old child. Needless to say, our friend was floored by the students comment, but that is a real example of how racism starts. In addition, you don’t blame the the child – you blame the parents. The child is just listening to their parents, they don’t understand.

Bottom line, you can’t force a person or people to change the way they think about you, but you can greatly influence what they think by personal experience.
